Going to school is cute. In fact, if you don’t, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage.

So many jobs out there require a minimum of B.sc, second class upper, or a Master’s degree.

It doesn’t matter how skillful you are, they aren’t going to lower their standards.

Please, as much as possible, go to school and do well.

Don’t let people motivate you with stories of Bill Gates and Zuckerberg. These are very rare cases.

But people that know me well do hear from me that “school is a scam”, and I’ll still keep saying that, hopefully not being misinterpreted.

Mind you, I say that because I’ve been there all my life.

The system is all messed up. The reward you for retaining enough information till you can regurgitate on paper.

They load you with so much irrelevant information till your brain bloats. You’d have to spend a lot of your time learning the important things that apply in the real world on your on.

They aren’t going to teach you how to be successful in the field you are. Many of the lecturers also aren’t. They aren’t going to teach you how to market yourself. Many of them even can’t. You are going to find it out yourself.

If you rely just on the read-and-pass school system, get ready to be disappointed.

That’s why many of us who went to school, studied one course or the other, and coming out as Fashion designers, social media writers (whatever that means), Web designers, photographers, shoe sellers, freelancers and network marketers.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen people who got amazing jobs at reputable companies (Like KPMG, P&G, and so on) after school. But 1/2 out of a hundred is total failure.

I don’t know about you, but really, for me, it sucks.

Go to school, but don’t let it get in the way of your real education.
